Goals: 1: 0 Pelé (19th), 2: 0 Jairzinho (22nd), 2: 1 Dumitrache (34th), 3: 1 Pelé (67th), 3: 2 Dembrovszki (84th)
Fortunately, group 3 did not have as few goals as in group 2. Although the favorites Brazil and England prevailed here, too, the two teams had to score significantly more goals. While Pelé & Co. clearly defeated the Czechoslovak Republic (4: 1), England (1: 0) and Romania (3: 2) narrowly, things were quite tight for the 1966 world champions. Romania and the winless ČSSR could each be defeated 1-0 - that was enough for second place.
