The Fuorcla Starlera ( Rhaeto-Romanic fuorcla, furschela from the Latin furcula for 'small fork, small mountain passage ' and starlera , a derivation of the Rhaeto-Romanic sterl for 'annual cattle' from the Latin sterilis for 'sterile') is an Alpine pass in the Swiss canton of Graubünden . With a peak height of 2513 m above sea level. M. it connects the Averstal in the west with the Oberhalbstein (via the Val Curtegns and the Val Nandro ) in the northeast via the Val Starlera . The pass is located west of Mulegns and east of Innerferrera .
Location and surroundings
The Fuorcla Starlera belongs to the Piz Grisch group, a subgroup of the Oberhalbsteiner Alps . The municipal boundary between Surses and Ferrera runs over the pass . The pass is bordered in the west by the Val Starlera , a side valley of the Averstal and in the east by the Val Curtegns , a side valley of the Oberhalbstein . The Fuorcla Starlera connects the Murter ( 2752 m ) in the northwest with the Piz Cagniel ( 2975 m ) in the southeast.
From the pass, a hiking trail also leads to the southeast to Fuorcla Curtegns , from where you can get through the Val Gronda and Val Faller to Mulegns , and another hiking trail leads northwest over the Murter to Fuorcla da Saletscha , from where you can go through the Val da Schmorras to Alp Schmorras arrives.
Valley locations are Savognin and Innerferrera. Frequent departure points for radons in Val Nandro and Tga in Val Faller.
