Football coach of the year (Switzerland)
As a football coach of the year is in Switzerland the most outstanding year football coach excellent. This award by the Swiss Football Association has existed since 1979. Since the 2012/13 season, the Swiss Football League has been honoring the best coach in the professional leagues at an award night.
Every year a specialist jury selects a person who has achieved special achievements. The announcement takes place on the night of Swiss football . The first excellent trainer was Willy Sommer .
The most successful coach is Christian Gross , who has been voted football coach of the year nine times. The first foreign title holder was the German Helmuth Johannsen in 1984 . Ottmar Hitzfeld was both Swiss and German football coach of the year . The most successful club is FC Basel , which provided the coach six times.
