The Grote Prijs Jef Scherens (short: GP Jef Scherens ) is a Belgian cycling race .
The Grote Prijs Jef Scherens is a one-day race that has been part of the UCI Europe Tour since 2005 and is classified in category 1.1. The race was first held in Leuven in 1963 and has been held annually at the beginning of September since then. It is named after the multiple world railroad champion Jef Scherens . The record winner is Belgian Frans Verbeeck , who has won four times. Andreas Klier , Marcel Sieberg and André Greipel are the only Germans to have won the semi-classic .
