Gaidakot ( Nepali गैंडाकोट Gaidakot or Gaindakot ) is a city ( municipality ) in the Nawalparasi District (Berdghat Susta East) in the Gandaki Province in southern Nepal .
Gaidakot is located on the right bank of the Narayani in the central Terai of Nepal. On the opposite side of the river, connected by a bridge, lies the city of Bharatpur . The Mahendra Rajmarg highway runs through Gaidakot.
The city was created in 2014 by amalgamating the Village Development Committees Amarapuri , Gaidakot and Mukundapur . The urban area covers 101.81 km².
The Kalika Mandir temple is located on a hill above the city .
Residents
At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Gaidakot had 55,205 residents in 13,024 households.
