The Gauliga Bayern 1936/37 was the fourth season of the Gauliga Bayern in football. The reigning German champions 1. FC Nürnberg was already a month before the end of the round. In the final round of the German championship , the "Club" made it into the final again, but could not defend its title in the Berlin Olympic Stadium in front of 100,000 spectators and was defeated by FC Schalke 04. In the lower half of the Gauliga, however, it was extremely tight until the end to, in the duel on the last day of the match between FC Wacker and BC Augsburg a 1: 2 finally secured both teams the league and meant relegation for the competitor ASV Nürnberg ; Newcomer VfB Coburg had previously been determined to be relegated. With Jahn Regensburg and Schwaben Augsburg, two founding members of the Gauliga returned to the top Bavarian league in the 1937/38 season via the promotion round of the district class champions.
