Georg Ludolf von Wulffen

Georg Ludolf von Wulffen (born January 18, 1719 in Driesen , † March 31, 1792 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general , chief of the dragoon regiment of the same name and heir to Fürstenfeld and Büssow (Friedeberg-Neumark district).

Life

origin

His parents were the heir of Stubbenhagen Kurt Ludolf von Wulffen (* June 5, 1681, † 1726) and his wife Sophie Louise Henriette von Wulffen.

Military career

In 1735 Wulffen went into Prussian service and joined the "Lottum" cuirassier regiment . There he became a cornet on January 26, 1739 . In the First Silesian War he took part in the battle of Chotusitz , where he was wounded, and in the siege of Brieg . He also became a lieutenant on May 27, 1742 . In the Second Silesian War he fought in the battles near Hohenfriedberg and Kesselsdorf as well as in the siege of Prague.

After the war he was in 1752 on June 7 Staff Captain and on 19 June 1755 Captain transported. During the Seven Years' War he became major on November 11, 1757 and regimental commander on November 22, 1758 . Wulffen took part in the battles of Lobositz , Kay , Roßbach and Leuthen . During the battle of Maxen he was taken prisoner, from which he was only released in 1763.

After the war Wulffen on August 28, 1764 Lieutenant Colonel and on June 9, 1769 Colonel . On September 22, 1772 he received the "Czettritz" dragoon regiment and on June 18, 1774, he became major general. In 1782 there was a court martial against the general. He had allowed his officers to be billeted outside of the assigned quarters during the War of the Bavarian Succession . This led to complaints to the General Staff. At the end of the investigation, he received two months' imprisonment and his departure. King Friedrich II pardoned the major general and gave him a pension of 300 thalers.

He died on March 31, 1792 in Berlin and was buried on April 4, 1792 in the Jerusalem cemetery at Hallesches Tor .

Wulffen married Johanna Beate Charlotte von der Marwitz (* March 28, 1754; † November 2, 1805), daughter of Georg Friedrich von der Marwitz (1720–1777) and Johanna Friederike von Nimptsch (* 1723). The couple had the following children:
