George Huntoon
George Huntoon († January 18, 1992 ) was an American racing car driver .
Racing career
George Huntoon raced sports cars in the late 1940s and 1950s . He celebrated his first victory in an Alfa Romeo 8C at the Bridgehampton 100 mile race in 1949 . He celebrated further victories at a race in Palm Beach and an SCCA championship run at Turner Air Force Base in Albany in 1952.
His greatest international success was third overall with Lance Macklin in the Austin-Healey 100 at the 1954 Sebring 12-hour race . In 1952 he came to Le Mans with Briggs Cunningham and drove a Cunningham C2-R there . The race ended prematurely after an accident.
