Gerd Frick (artist)

Gerd Frick (born January 4, 1948 in Schwerin ) is a German painter and graphic artist. The artist, who lives in Neubrandenburg and whose work focuses on color graphics , also deals with art in public spaces .

Life

Gerd Frick grew up in Uelitz . After attending school, Gerd Frick learned the painting trade from 1964 to 1966 and then studied at the University of Applied Arts in Heiligendamm until 1969 . He then worked as an equipment manager and color designer until 1976. From 1976 to 1981 he studied painting at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art .

Gerd Frick has been living and working as a freelance painter and graphic artist in Neubrandenburg since 1981. In 1993 he worked in Glasgow on a working scholarship . He received the art scholarship from the city of Neubrandenburg in 1995. In the following year he took part in the “Euromiljo 96” project in Gladsaxe , Denmark . In 1998 he received the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Scholarship . In 2001 he took part in the international ice cream plein air in Petrozavodsk . The following year he participated in the art symposium “Farver i Parken” in Denmark.

Gerd Frick opened the studio gallery “Gloria” in Neubrandenburg in 2003. The city paid tribute to him on the occasion of his 60th birthday with an exhibition in the Neubrandenburg art collection . He is a member of the Mecklenburg and Western Pomerania Artists' Association .

Works

In addition to the city and the Neubrandenburg art collection, works by Gerd Frick are owned by the Mecklenburg Lake District , the Schwerin State Museum and the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Parliament .
