Gereon Klug

Gereon Klug , pseudonym Hans E. Platte (* 1969 in Siegen ) is a German author , copywriter , DJ , journalist and tour manager.

Life

After graduating from high school, Gereon Klug completed journalistic internships at Am Löhrtor grammar school in Siegen, among others at Siegener Zeitung and Radio Siegen . He studied politics, journalism and German in Göttingen . He took over the record store dis records there and organized numerous events in the Göttingen area. He also worked as an editor for several city magazines. After eight years he sold the record store and moved to Hamburg .

In Hamburg founded Klug in Karoviertel one specializing in Hamburg artist record store that Hanseplatte where concerts were held. Since 2008, the new publications have been advertised in a literary and ironic way in a newsletter . In 2014 a collection of these texts appeared under the pseudonym Hans E. Platte under the Tilel Low Fidelity. Hans E. Platte's letters against the mainstream . In the same year, a corresponding sampler was released on the Staatsakt label , with songs by bands such as Die Sterne , Deichkind and Tocotronic . In 2012 he handed over the management of the Hanseplatte and continues to write the newsletter to this day.

Klug worked for a Hamburg advertising agency for two years. He also founded the Nobistor label , which no longer exists in Hamburg , through which singles and albums by Studio Braun , Heinz Strunk , Jacques Palminger , Helge Schneider , Felix Kubin , Carsten Meyer and Mutter have been released. He works as a tour manager for Rocko Schamoni , Studio Braun and Fraktus and is also involved in other projects for Studio Braun members. He stepped z. B. in the TV adaptation of Strunk's novel of the same name Jürgen - Today is lived as a ticket inspector. In 2016, Klug was the publisher of Drei Farben Braun . The book is a retrospective of the humor trio Studio Braun, commented on by him. Besides Schamoni and Ralf Köster, Klug was also a manager at the Pudel Produkte label . The label mainly published artists from the Golden Poodle Club environment and later became the Staatsakt label .

In 2018, Klug wrote the musical King of the Seagulls together with Andreas Dorau , which premiered during the summer festival at Kampnagel 2018 and was also released as an album.

Klug also acts as a songwriter. It applies e.g. B. as the originator of the song idea for the Deichkind song Sorry Geil and is also involved in other lyrics. He regularly performs in Hamburg clubs under the artist name “DJ Dr. Dr. Penis ”as a DJ . Together with Schamoni he runs the podcast Auf der Bahn , which is distributed through Audible .

Together with Christian Dabeler , Maurice Summen and Timur Mosh Cirak he founded the group OIL. OIL is an author collective and a band.

Others

Klug published numerous columns for Die Zeit , taz and brand eins, among others , and worked as a journalist in the cultural field. He was a candidate for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? , failed, however, at the task of putting the lyrics of I Wanted, I Was a Chicken in the correct order. He also works as an author for television series, for example for Check Check , an airport satire with Klaas Heufer-Umlauf .
