District Court of Montafon

The judicial district of Montafon was the local jurisdiction of the district court of Montafon in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg until June 30, 2017 .

The seat of the district court was in the capital of the Montafon , the market town of Schruns . The judicial district of Montafon was one of two judicial districts in the political district of Bludenz .

The court districts in Vorarlberg were allocated with the ordinance of the federal government of January 19, 1971 on the districts of the district courts located in Vorarlberg in Federal Law Gazette No. 33/1971. The judicial district of Montafon was specified in Paragraph 6.

On September 25, 2015, Justice Minister Wolfgang Brandstetter announced that the Montafon District Court and thus the judicial district would be dissolved in 2017. Responsibility therefore passed to the District Court of Bludenz on July 1, 2017, and the municipalities of the Montafon judicial district became part of the Bludenz judicial district . In previous years, these plans had already been drawn up several times and were rejected due to the continuing resistance of the Vorarlberg state government .
