Gernot Haas (born April 29, 1978 in Graz ) is an Austrian actor , cabaret artist , presenter and dialect artist .

Life

Haas studied law at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz . Parallel to his school education at the Academic Gymnasium in Graz and the subsequent law studies, he was self-employed as a PR and artist manager for Sandra Pires , Christina Stürmer , Hanson , Julian Rachlin , Markus Schirmer , Gaede Trio and Starmania .

Since 1999 he has had theater engagements, starting at the theater on Ortweinplatz in Graz. Gernot Haas was discovered there by the Austrian chamber actress Elfriede Ott and trained as an actor with her from 2001 to 2004. This was followed by appearances as an actor in the Theater am Ortweinplatz, in the Graz Schauspielhaus , at the Theater in der Josefstadt , in the StadtTheater Walfischgasse in Vienna and at the Nestroy Festival in Maria Enzersdorf .

Haas gave presentations and readings as well as voice imitations by Arnold Schwarzenegger , Udo Jürgens and Marcel Reich-Ranicki for Antenne Steiermark, Radio rs2 Berlin and Radio kiss fm Los Angeles. He appeared as a cabaret artist with the Austrian cabaret artist Irene S. and in short films. He had joint appearances with Elfriede Ott, Gerhard Bronner , Senta Berger and Friedrich von Thun, among others .

In 2005, the foundation of the Austrian private acting school was made Acting Academy Elfriede Ott together with Elfriede Ott. Gernot Haas was the organizational director of the academy until September 2013 and taught dialects / improvisation.

In 2009 Haas presented his first solo cabaret program Esoderrisch , in which he impersonated 23 roles. It was a surprise success and since the premiere it has already been played in front of more than 100,000 visitors in Austria, Germany and Italy. The press describes the program as “the most outstanding cabaret program in many years” (Grazetta) or “top class cabaret” (Die Presse).

Together with the Swiss entrepreneur Axel Künzli and the Austrian entrepreneur Paul Koch, he founded the TV and film production company Lightkid, based in Munich, which specializes in the production of TV formats in the areas of factual entertainment, comedy and documentary as well as the production of feature films Has. Gernot Haas was Managing Director and Head of Development at Lightkid until July 2019.

In spring 2015 he had his new solo cabaret program !!! ADDITION: PERFORMANCE !!! Premiere, which André Heller described as “a program like no other”.

In 2018 he was the only permanent panel member in all nine episodes of the 3rd season of the Austrian TV comedy show " Vurschrift is Vurschrift " on Puls4 . In December 2018, the first two episodes of his first own comedy series, "Klamke - Die Kiosk Comedy, Sketche und Fun mit Gernot Haas", ran on NDR television . In it, Gernot Haas plays almost all the roles himself. Uschi Glas , Barbara Schöneberger , Jörg Pilawa , Oliver Kleinfeld and Angelika Strahser play alongside him .

Since 2019, Gernot Haas and Kati Bellowitsch have been hosting the new Puls4 main evening show Des traust di nie , a phone prank show with numerous star guests, on Austrian television . In the comedy show "Comedy Grenzgänger", also on Puls4, he can be seen in every program in the role of bouncer Sebastian, who is strongly reminiscent of Sebastian Kurz .

In April 2019 his new stage program "VIP, VIP, Hurrraa !!!" Premiere in which Gernot Haas parodies more than 20 celebrities from politics, music, show business and history.
