Gernot Heck (born April 12, 1940 in Nieder-Wiesen ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

After attending primary school from 1946 to 1954 in Nieder-Wiesen, he attended the state advanced high school in Alzey until 1960 . He passed his Abitur in 1960. After attending school, he studied German, history, politics, philosophy and education at the universities of Mainz and Freiburg . He passed the first state examination in Mainz in 1966 . The second state examination followed in 1968.

Since 1971 he was teacher , since 1973 senior teacher and in 1975 director of studies at the State School in Alzey. From 1991 he worked as a ministerial advisor in the Rhineland-Palatinate state representation in Brussels. From 1998 he was head of the branch office of the state center for political education at the University of Kaiserslautern .

Heck was u. a. District chairman of the Junge Union (JU), deputy district chairman or district chairman of the CDU, member of the district executive committee of the KPV , member of the regional executive committee of the Evangelical working group of the CDU . From 1980 to 1990 he was chairman of the CDU district association Alzey-Worms.

He was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from May 20, 1975 to May 20, 1991 . He belonged to the state parliament for a total of 4 electoral terms. In the 8th electoral term he was a member of the Interior Committee. In the 9th electoral term he worked in the Interior Committee, the Legal Committee and the Study Commission "State Electoral Law". In the 10th electoral term he was a member of the Budget and Finance Committee, the Interior Committee and the Legal Committee. Since June 22, 1989 he was also chairman of the Interior Committee.

Heck was a member of the Nieder-Wiesen local council, the Alzey-Land municipal council and the Alzey-Worms district council . In 1984 he was a member of the board of the Rhineland-Palatinate district council .

In 2014, Heck was elected mayor of his home village Nieder-Wiesen, but resigned from his position before the end of his term on June 30, 2016 for health reasons.
