Tidal concerts in East Frisia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The festival for classical music tidal concerts in East Frisia was founded in early 2012 by the East Frisian landscape . Around thirty concerts are held annually in the summer in sound spaces such as churches, castles and palaces in the region between Dollart and Jadebusen . In addition to classical chamber concerts (for example by the clarinetist Sharon Kam together with pianist Lars Vogt , the violinists Christian Tetzlaff or Andrej Bielow ), jazz by the Lisbeth Quartet or baroque music by The English Concert with Maurice Steger are also on the program. One focus of the tidal concerts is the promotion of talent. In addition, the next generation is involved through offers for families and participation in the “Rhapsody in School” project. The nucleus of the tidal concerts is the landscape forum of the East Frisian landscape in Aurich .

history

The East Frisian landscape is active in the fields of culture, science and education. At the beginning of 2012, the public corporation founded the Tidal Concerts in East Friesland and selected Matthias Kirschnereit , professor of piano at the HMT Rostock , as artistic director in a selection committee . The festival is organized by the Landschaftsforum der Ostfriesischen Landschaft led by Dirk Lübben.

program

Chamber music is the main focus of the tidal concerts. Played alongside works by old masters and contemporary compositions, among others, Rihm or Yun or Widmann . The line-ups vary from piano recitals to duos, quartet and orchestral concerts.

Music mediation

Artists of the tidal concerts are involved in the music education project “Rhapsody in School” initiated by the pianist Lars Vogt , so that the pupils in the region get to see their instruments and some of the works that they play in the concert in the schools from individual artists. There are also musical offers for families in which the children are actively involved in the action. In 2012 there were two fairy tale musicals by the Nekkepenns , which were conceived for the young audience in East Frisia and celebrated their premiere in the East Frisian Agricultural Museum Campen . Workshops, in which the children were able to help design the second stage program by making musical instruments, studying dances, scenes and musical contributions, were an additional component.

Artist

In addition to those already mentioned, these artists and ensembles performed: Adrian Brendel , Concerto Recitativo, Vilde Frang, Lutz Görner , Fritzi Haberlandt , Christian Ihle Hadland, Ivo Hentschel , Stephan Imorde, Stephan Kiefer, Matthias Kirschnereit, Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester , Michail Lifits , Elena Nesterenko, Ulf Schneider and the Szymanowski Quartet.

financing

In addition to the infrastructure provided, including the staff through the East Frisian landscape, the tidal concerts are financed by the entrance fees and the acquisition of subsidies. Statoil Deutschland GmbH was the main sponsor of the festival in 2012 and enriched the festival in addition to the monetary support by providing two Heroes of Tomorrow talents, the violinist Vilde Frang and pianist Christian Ihle Hadland . Festival sponsors were the Ostfriesische Landschaftliche Brandkasse , the Bremer Landesbank , the Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken in Ostfriesland , the OLB Foundation of the Oldenburgische Landesbank and the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture . In addition, there are concert sponsors from the region who are closely associated with the tidal concerts.

Mannheim under conductor Ivo Hentschel with Matthias Kirschnereit as a piano soloist.
