The Gibraltar Darts Trophy is a ranking tournament in darts organized by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). It is an event of the European Darts Tour , which is carried out as part of the PDC Pro Tour . All seven previous events have been played at the Victoria Stadium in Gibraltar .
The current defending champion is Michael van Gerwen , who won this tournament for the third time with his 8: 3- legs final victory over Adrian Lewis in 2018.
format
The tournament will be played in a knockout system . The game mode is best of 11 legs in the first three rounds , best of 13 legs in the semi-finals and best of 15 legs in the final . Each leg is played in double-out mode.
Prize money
The tournament has been giving away a total of £ 140,000 in prize money since 2019, an increase of £ 5,000 over the previous year. The prize money was distributed among the participants as follows:
