Gil Montandon (born April 28, 1965 in Neuchâtel ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player who has been a coach since 2011. He was best known as a player in SC Bern , with whom he won the Swiss championship in 1991, 1992 and 1997 . He was the first player in the Swiss National League A to play in over 1000 NLA games. He ended his career at Friborg-Gottéron in 2009 .

His sons Arnaud Montandon and Maxime Montandon also play ice hockey.

Gil Montandon played for the Swiss national ice hockey team at the Olympic Games in 1988 and 1992. He also represented Switzerland at the B world championships in 1986, 1989, 1990 and 1994 and the A world championships in 1987, 1991, 1992 and 1993. Montandon graduated for Switzerland 156 international matches.

In 2011 he became a coach at HC Université Neuchâtel from the third class first division . In March 2015 he was initially appointed head of sports and later also assistant coach of the EHC Visp . He was promoted to interim head coach during the 2015/16 season but was fired on December 28, 2015.
