Little is known about his life. He was a member of a group of sculptors who came to Sicily from Carrara around 1500, probably as a result of the takeover of power in Carrara by the Marquis Malaspina of Massa in 1473.

From 1493 on, Mancino worked with Antonio Vanella, who was also from Carrara. From 1487 he was in Palermo he came into contact with the sculptor family Gagini , with whose members he occasionally worked, for example at the Tribuna in the Cathedral of Palermo . His stay in Palermo is documented until 1493.
