Ględowo is located three kilometers southeast of the city of Człuchów (Schlochau) on the Polish Droga krajowa 25 . The nearest train station is Człuchów on the Chojnice – Runowo Pomorskie (Konitz – Ruhnow) railway line , which runs on the northern outskirts.

history

On June 18, 1874, the village, then called Lichtenhagen , became the administrative center and eponymous place for the newly established Lichtenhagen district , which existed until 1945. The place was in the district of Schlochau , which belonged to the district of Marienwerder in the Prussian province of West Prussia , from 1922 to the province of Grenzmark Posen-West Prussia and from 1938 to the administrative region of Grenzmark Posen-West Prussia in the province of Pomerania . In addition to Lichtenhagen, three other municipalities were integrated into the Lichtenhagen district: Deutsch Briesen (now Polish: Brzeźno), Niesewanz (Nieżywięć) and Richnau (Rychnowy).

In Lichtenhagen with the district Augusthof (today Polish: Skarszewo), 578 inhabitants were registered in 1910. Their number rose to 787 by 1925, was 721 in 1933, and was 708 in 1939.

As a result of the Second World War , Lichtenhagen came to Poland and in 1945 received the Polish name "Ględowo". Today the place belongs to the Gmina Człuchów (rural community Schlochau ) in the powiat Człuchowski in the Pomeranian Voivodeship (1975 to 1998 Slupsk Voivodeship ).

church

Before 1945, the population of Lichtenhagen was two thirds Catholic and one third Protestant . The location of both churches was oriented towards Schlochau (now in Polish: Człuchów).

Today almost exclusively Catholic church members live in Ględowo. The connection to Człuchów has remained in the Catholic Church in Poland . The district town has its own deanery , which is assigned to the Pelplin diocese . Protestant church members living here live in the catchment area of the parish in Sępólno Krajeńskie (Zempelburg) , a branch church of Bydgoszcz (Bromberg) in the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
