Glasgow Anniesland is a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 1999 as one of ten constituencies in the Glasgow electoral region , which was redesigned as part of the constituencies' revision in 2011 and now only comprises nine constituencies. Here, the boundaries of the constituency of Glasgow Anniesland were redrawn. The constituency includes the Glasgow boroughs of Anniesland , Drumchapel , Jordanhill , Knightswood , Scotstoun and Yoker . A representative is sent.
The constituency extends over an area of 16.8 km 2 . In the 2011 census survey, a total of 74,628 people lived within its borders.
On October 11, 2000 the elected Labor politician and First Minister of Scotland Donald Dewar died , which is why new elections were held in the constituency on November 23, 2000.
