The Gmina Łobżenica is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Pilski of the Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city ​​of the same name ( German Lobsens ) with about 2950 inhabitants.

The municipality is located in the northeast of the voivodeship in historical Krajna and borders in the north, east and south-east on the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship . The district town of Piła (Schneidemühl) is about 25 kilometers southwest, Bydgoszcz (Bromberg) 40 kilometers southeast and Poznan 90 kilometers south. Neighboring municipalities are the municipalities of Więcbork in the north, Mrocza and Sadki in the east and south-east - all located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, Wysoka in the south-west and Złotów in the west and north-west.

The 76 km long Łobżonka (Lobsonka) runs through the municipality from north to south and borders the main town in the east. There are a number of smaller lakes in the municipality. The largest is the approximately 275 hectare Jezioro Sławianowskie Wielkie, which forms part of the municipal boundary in the west. One of the other lakes is the 108 hectare Jezioro Stryjewo in the northeast.

The community has an area of ​​190.68 km², 70 percent of which is used for agriculture and 19 percent for forestry.

history

Interrupted by the German occupation in the Second World War from 1920 to 1938, today's municipal area belonged to the Poznan Voivodeship, 1938–1939 and 1945–1950 to the Pomeranian Voivodeship with different layouts. - The German minority was expelled after the World War.

In 1950 the municipality became part of the Bydgoszcz Voivodeship and from 1975 to 1998 it became part of the Piła Voivodeship . The powiat Wyrzyski , which had existed since 1920, was dissolved in 1975. The rural community Łobżenicak was converted into various gromadas after 1954 and newly created on January 1, 1973. Urban and rural municipality Łobżenicak were merged in 1990/1991 to form the urban and rural municipality. This has belonged to the Greater Poland Voivodeship and Powiat Pilski since 1999.
