geography

Map of the municipality

The municipality is located in the northeast of the voivodeship in the historical Krajna and borders in the east on the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship . The district town of Piła (Schneidemühl) is about 35 kilometers to the west, Bydgoszcz (Bromberg) 45 kilometers to the east and Poznan 80 kilometers to the south. Neighboring municipalities are the municipalities of Łobżenica in the north, Sadki and Kcynia in the east and south-east - both in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, Gołańcz and Szamocin in the south and Białośliwie and Wysoka in the west.

The southern border of the municipality and the powiat is largely formed by the river Netze ( Noteć in Polish ). The 76 km long Łobżonka (Lobsonka) runs through the municipality and the main town from north to south. At Osieka nad Notecią it is dammed into ponds and flows into the nets. To the east of Wyrzysk, the 68 kilometer long Orla flows into the Łobżonka. The highest elevation of the moraine landscape is the 192 meters (npm) high Dębowa Góra.

The community has an area of 159 km², 73 percent of which is used for agriculture and 13 percent for forestry. Sixty percent of the community area is under nature protection .

history

Interrupted by the German occupation in the Second World War from 1920 to 1938, today's municipal area belonged to the Poznan Voivodeship, 1938–1939 and 1945–1950 to the Pomeranian Voivodeship with different layouts. - The German minority was expelled after the World War.

In 1950 the municipality became part of the Bydgoszcz Voivodeship and from 1975 to 1998 it became part of the Piła Voivodeship . The powiat Wyrzyski was dissolved in 1975. The rural community of Wyrzysk was repeatedly converted into various gromadas after 1954 and newly created on January 1, 1973.
