The Gmina Kcynia is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Nakielski of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name ( German Exin ) with about 4700 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality borders in the north on the district town of Nakło nad Notecią (Nakel) and in the west on the Greater Poland Voivodeship . The city of Bydgoszcz (Bromberg) is about 30 kilometers to the east.
history
In 1976 a part of Gmina Gorzyce, founded in 1973 and dissolved in 1976, came to the municipality.

The urban-and-rural municipality of Kcynia has an area of 297 km², on which about 13,500 people live. In addition to the city itself, it includes 36 villages with school administration offices (sołectwa) and other smaller towns and settlements.

traffic
The municipality and its main town are crossed by Voivodship Road 241 (DW241). This leads in the northeast through Nakło nad Notecią, where it crosses the national road DK10 . In a south-westerly direction, the 241 runs through Wągrowiec and ends at Rogoźno where it joins the national road DK11 .
The voivodship road 247 begins in Kcynia and ends in the east after about 20 kilometers with the confluence with the voivodship road DW246 or DK5 ( European road 261 ).
Kcynia has a station at the here only operated in freight traffic. The Oleśnica – Chojnice railway line is only operated here for goods traffic. There were train stations in Kcynia, Szczepice and Studzienki and a former stop in Grocholin on the disused Poznań – Bydgoszcz railway line .
The nearest international airport, Bydgoszcz, is around 30–40 kilometers away.
