The Gmina Alwernia [ al'vɛrɲa ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Chrzanowski of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name with about 3400 inhabitants. The municipality is located 30 km west of Krakow .
history
The seat of the municipality was granted town charter in 1993 and the municipality got its current status.
