The Gmina Czchów is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Brzeski of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the small town of the same name with 2375 inhabitants (2016).
geography
The municipality has an area of 66.47 km² and is located in the south of Poland, about 50 kilometers north of the Slovakian border. The most important body of water is the Dunajec River .
Neighboring municipalities are Dębno, Gnojnik, Gródek nad Dunajcem, Iwkowa, Lipnica Murowana, Łososina Dolna and Zakliczyn.
history
From 1954 to 1961 the municipality belonged to the Gromada Filipowice .
On January 1, 2000, Czchów received its town charter, which had been lost in 1928 , and the municipality got its current status.

The town-and-country community (gmina miejsko-wiejska) Czchów consists of the town that gives it its name and the following villages with school offices:
Biskupice Melsztyńskie, Będzieszyna, Domosławice, Jurków, Piaski-Drużków, Tworkowa, Tymowa , Wytrzyszczka and Złota to the municipality.
traffic
State road 75 from Brzesko to Nowy Sącz runs through the municipality and its main town . The nearest international airport is Krakow-Balice , which is about 60 kilometers to the west.
