The Gmina Dąbrowa Białostocka is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Sokólski of the Podlaskie Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city ​​of the same name with 5657 inhabitants (2016).

history

After the Second World War, the eponymous city recovered only slowly and Dąbrowa Białostocka lost its town charter in 1950. In 1956 the town became the seat of a powiat , but it was not regained its city status until 1965. As part of an administrative reform, the city came from 1975 to 1998 to the Białystok Voivodeship .

Buildings

The Church of St. Anne in Kamienna Stara village was built in the 16th century and is the oldest surviving wooden church in Podlaskie Voivodeship.

The municipality's road network covers 198 kilometers of which 164 kilometers are paved. The road network includes 34.6 kilometers of voivodeship roads. The provincial road 670 ( droga wojewódzka 670 ) joins the state road 65 after about 50 kilometers in a westerly direction not far from Goniądz . In the east, the 670 leads via Nowy Dwór Sokólski to the Belarusian border. Provincial road 673 runs from north to south. In the north it joins the Provincial Road 664 after about 12 kilometers at Lipsk. In the south it ends in Sokółka after about 30 kilometers . The district roads ( ulica powiatowe ) have a length of 106.7 kilometers, the municipal roads 43.3 kilometers.

The next border crossing to Belarus is in Kuźnica about 25 kilometers southeast of Dąbrowa Białostocka. The rail link runs through the city from Warsaw via Białystok to Suwałki .
