history

Overview map of the community

Until 1945 there were ten German municipalities in the municipality: Heinersdorf, Himmelstädt, Kladow, Lotzen, Marienspring, Rohrbruch, Stolzenberg, Wormsfelde, Zanzhausen and Zanzin.

In January 1945, near the small village of Marienspring (in Polish : Marzęcin), there was a battle with five German tanks that were supposed to hold up the approaching Soviet troops from crossing the Kladow River. Marienspring was completely burned down by the Soviet troops. A nine-year-old girl who was unable to escape from one of the houses in time also died in the attack. The remaining ruins of the houses in the village of Marienspring were removed in 1983. Today you can still find the water mill, old gravestones in the cemetery, a war memorial from the First World War , a memorial to a forester who died in a fight with poachers and a new memorial in memory of the girl.

A Jewish cemetery established in Zanzhausen in the 19th century was devastated by Germans during the Second World War. Five tombstones are still there today.

Part of the village Chwalęcice was umgemeindet as Chwalęcice Dolne in the city of Gorzów Wielkopolski .

nature

The north of the municipality, rich in forests and lakes, forms part of the Barlinecko-Gorzowski Landscape Protection Park Krajobrazy, which was designated in 1991 . There are three nature reserves in the municipality: Dębina (12 ha , bedstraw-oak-hornbeam forest community ), Rzeka Przyłężek (35 ha, river with salmonids ) and Wilanów (67 ha, primeval forest with beeches ).

Transport and communication

The towns of Chwalęcice, Kłodawa, Mironice, Różanki-Szklarnia and Santocko are integrated into the local public transport system in Gorzów Wielkopolski by bus routes . A summer bus route runs from Gorzów via Różanki to Jezioro Nierzym (Lake Nierim) .

The state road 22 (formerly Reichsstraße 1) leads through the municipality from Gorzów through the places Różanki-Szklarnia, Różanki and Zdroisko and the voivodship road 151 through Kłodawa. This route forms part of the Cistercian Tourist Street (Szlak Cystersów) . Landesstraße 3 forms the western edge of the municipality .

There is a post office in Kłodawa and post offices in Różanki and Wojcieszyce. The towns of the municipality have two different postcodes: 66-416 have Różanki, Rybakowo, Santoczno, Wojcieszyce and Zdroisko; 66-415 have all other places.
