The Gmina Kożuchów [ kɔˈʒuxuf ] is a town-and-country municipality in the powiat Nowosolski of the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name ( German Freystadt in Schlesien ) with 9432 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2019).
geography
The municipality is located in the south of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship . It borders in the north on the city of Zielona Góra (Grünberg) and in the east on the district town Nowa Sól (Neusalz on the Oder) .
history
Kożuchów was the seat of the Powiat (district) until 1953 . The urban-and-rural municipality has existed since 1975 and was part of the Zielona Góra Voivodeship until 1998 .
