The Gmina Konopnica is a rural community in the powiat Wieluński of the Łódź Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the village of the same name with 813 inhabitants (as of March 31, 2011).

Map of the municipality

The municipality is located in the southwest of the voivodeship. The Warta ( Polish Warta) runs through the community from south to north. The city of Łódź is about 60 kilometers to the northeast, the district town of Wieluń about 20 kilometers to the southwest. Neighboring municipalities are Brąszewice , Brzeźnio , Burzenin , Osjaków , Ostrówek , Rusiec , Widawa and Złoczew .

The community has an area of 83 km², 66 percent of which is used for agriculture and 25 percent for forestry.

history

From 1975 to 1998 the municipality belonged to the Sieradz Voivodeship . The rural community was re-established in 1973. Previously, several gromadas had existed in their area since 1954 . Predecessor parishes were established under Russian rule in 1867 and during the Second Polish Republic in 1919 .

The voivodship road DW481 leads from the district town of Wieluń through the northern area of the municipality to Łask in the direction of the voivodeship capital Łódź. The nearest station is the service station (without passenger traffic) Rusiec Łódzki on the Chorzów – Tczew railway line . Łódź is the nearest international airport.

In the area of the main town of the municipality of the private resort since 2013 Verkehrslandeplatz Lądowisko Konopnica ( ICAO code : EPZK) with a 550-meter long and 30 meter wide grass runway.
