The Gmina Radzyń Chełmiński is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Grudziądzki of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the small town of the same name ( German Rehden ) with around 1900 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located in the Kulmerland , about 30 kilometers east of the city of Chełmno (Kulm) . It borders on the rural community Grudziądz to the west . The town of Grudziądz (Graudenz) itself is ten kilometers northwest.
history
As part of the first partition of Poland in 1772, the municipality came to Prussia . In 1919 it became part of the re-established Poland and was German occupied from 1939 to 1945 during World War II . Before the end of the war, the area came back to Poland. From 1934 to 1954, the rural community Radzyn existed next to the township .
The rural community was re-formed in 1973, the town community was added in 1975 and the community received its current status. From 1975 to 1998 it was part of the Thorn Voivodeship .

The town-and-country community consists of the town and 15 villages with school authorities:
Czeczewo, Dębieniec, Gawłowice, Gołębiewo, Kneblowo, Mazanki, Nowy Dwór, Radzyń-Wieś, Radzyń-Wybudowanie, Rywałd, Stara Ruda, Szumiłowo, Zakrzewo and Zielnowo.
Other villages and hamlets are:
Fijewo, Gziki, Janowo, Rozental and Wymysłowo.
