The Gmina Ruja [ 'ruja ] is a rural municipality in the powiat Legnicki of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland . Your seat is the village of the same name ( German  Royn ) with about 300 inhabitants.

Geographical location

Ruja is located 20 kilometers east of Legnica (Liegnitz) . Neighboring municipalities are Kunice , Legnickie Pole , Malczyce , Prochowice and Wądroże Wielkie .

The Jauer – Maltsch small railway ran through Royn .

The manor districts of Ober-Royn and Nieder-Royn existed with the same name and were owned by the von Schweinitz and von Falkenhayn families.
