Grzęzno (German Weitenhagen ) is a village in the powiat Łobeski in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . Grzęzno belongs to the rural municipality Dobra (formerly Dobra Nowogardzka , German Daber ).
Geographical location
Grzęzno is located in Western Pomerania , in the lake triangle Jezioro Ciesze ( Teetzsee ), Okrzeja ( Quernsee ) and Woświn ( Wothschwiensee ), about 60 kilometers east of Stettin and about 5 kilometers west of Daber.
history
Weitenhagen used to be a fiefdom and manor of the Dewitz family . Around 1780 there was a farm in Weitenhagen, a sheep farm, nine full farmers , one half farmer , a parish farmer , a schoolmaster and a total of 19 households.
Until 1945, Weitenhagen formed a rural community in the Naugard district in the Prussian province of Pomerania . Around 1930 the district of Weitenhagen had an area of 12.1 km². In addition to Weitenhagen, the community also owned the Vorwerk Weitenhagen residential area . In 1925, a total of 328 inhabitants were counted in the municipality of Weitenhagen, who were distributed over 68 households.
Towards the end of the Second World War , the village was occupied by the Red Army in early March 1945 . After the end of the war, Weitenhagen was placed under Polish administration together with all of Western Pomerania . Weitenhagen was organized by the Polish People's Republic in Grzęzno renamed.

The village is not touched by any of the major traffic routes. In the vicinity of the village, only the voivodship road 144 from Nowogard ( Naugard ) to Chociwel ( Freienwalde ) and the voivodship road 146 from Jenikowo ( Hohen Schönau ) to Łobez ( Labes ). In the north, Nowogard ( Naugard ), with a train station and the trunk road 6 , is 17 km away. To the south, Chociwel ( Freienwalde ) is located on the Stettin – Gdynia ( Gdynia ) railway line and trunk road 20 , 14 kilometers away.
