Gustav von Cube (born October 25, 1873 in Menton ; † March 31, 1931 in Duisburg ) was a German architect .

Life

Gustav Hermann v. Cube came from the Baltic German noble family of the Cube , which consists of the Mark Brandenburg came at the beginning of the 18th century in Livonia had settled. He studied architecture at the Technical University of Hanover and became a member of the Corps Macaro-Visurgia . Before the First World War, he built upper-class villas of a conservative design in the Munich area. After 1920 he worked in partnership with the architect Arthur Buchloh in Duisburg. Von Cube was a member of the Munich Architects and Engineers Association (MAIV) and the Association of German Architects (BDA).

family

Von Cube's father was the pulmonologist Maximilian Gotthard von Cube (born May 1, 1831 in Salaspils , Latvia ; † November 23, 1910 in Tegernsee ), who lived with Sophie Luise Strohblum (born May 31, 1847 in Saint Petersburg ; † August 13, 1913 in Tegernsee) was married. Gustav von Cube married Maria (Mamy) Sternheim (March 26, 1879 in Berlin; † March 25, 1922 in Munich), a sister of Carl Sternheim , their children were Irma von Cube and Felix-Eberhard von Cube . In 1931 von Cube committed suicide, according to family tradition for economic reasons.
