The Municipio Gutiérrez is a district in the Santa Cruz Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Municipio Gutiérrez is one of seven Municipios of the Cordillera Province and covers an area in the western part of the province. It is bordered by the Chuquisaca department in the northwest, the Lagunillas municipality in the west, the Camiri municipality in the south, the Charagua municipality in the east , and the Cabezas municipality in the north .

The municipality extends between about 18 ° 58 'and 20 ° 00' south latitude and 63 ° 08 'and 63 ° 47' west longitude, its expansion from west to east is up to 75 kilometers and from north to south up to 120 kilometers .

The municipality comprises 37 municipalities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the village Gutiérrez with 1,019 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the central part of the district.

The municipality Gutiérrez is located on the western edge of the Bolivian lowlands between the foothills of the southeastern Cordillera Central . The climate is subtropical and semi-humid , the temperatures fluctuate only to a limited extent during the day and during the year.
