Location of Höntrup in Blomberg
Höntrup has been one of 19 localities in the city of Blomberg in the Lippe district in North Rhine-Westphalia since 1970 . Höntrup is about four kilometers southwest of the city center of Blomberg. In Höntrup there are 275 inhabitants on an area of 2.3 km², which corresponds to a population density of 119 inhabitants / km². The current mayor is Sonja Volmer ( SPD ) (as of December 18, 2008).
In Höntrup there is only one full-time farm. The infrastructure includes a. a restaurant, a landscape gardening company, a locksmith's and blacksmith's shop, a cemetery and a village square. At clubs and groups in Höntrup there is the village community with a dance group and senior citizens club. Once a year there is a small Christmas market (mulled wine drinking) in Höntrup. Höntrup used to have a small shop and a mill on Königsbach. The Alter Krug restaurant has existed since 1901. Before that, the village pub was in house number 7 on Wellentruper Straße. The houses on this street were later renumbered.
In old documents from the years 1270, 1272 and 1274 Höntrup is first mentioned as "Hodinctorpe". On the memorial stone on the village square is the year 1272, which is now the date of foundation. As a result, the 725th anniversary of the village was celebrated in 1997. In addition, in old documents from the 13th century, the settlement of three people is listed, namely for Johannes, Burchard and Hildebrandus de Hodinctorpe .
On January 1, 1970, Höntrup was incorporated into the city of Blomberg.
