Maspe has been one of the 19 localities in the city of Blomberg in the Lippe district in North Rhine-Westphalia since 1970 . Maspe is about three kilometers southwest of Blomberg city center as the crow flies. In Maspe, 270 inhabitants live on an area of ​​2.09 km², which corresponds to a population density of 129 inhabitants / km². The current mayor is Jörg Berten (as of December 18, 2008).

The infrastructure includes a village community center, two full-time agricultural businesses and four part-time businesses. In terms of clubs, there is the Maspe game and sports club, the village committee and the senior citizens' club.

history

Maspe is first mentioned in a document in 1384. Around 1488 Maspe had 23 inhabitants, the few farms belonged mainly to the landlord of Donop and were run by serfs. It was only in 1808 lifted Princess Pauline the serfdom and the farmers were personally independent.

On May 1, 1926, Maspe gave parts of the area to the rebuilt community of Siebenhöfen .

On January 1, 1970 Maspe was incorporated into the city of Blomberg.
