The Hörbacher Montagsbrettl is a cabaret stage in Upper Bavaria for cabaret , comedy , literature and extraordinary music. It is the oldest still existing cabaret theater in Bavaria .

history

The Hörbacher Monday Board was founded on October 20, 1975 by Toni Drexler in the village of Hörbach (municipality of Althegnenberg ) in the Fürstenfeldbruck district, with 360 people . A short time later, his brother Jakob Drexler also joined. In 1993 the Friends of Hörbacher Montagsbrettl eV was founded, which has also been an organizer since 2001. Since 1980, the Hörbacher Monday board has organized a cabaret festival in a marquee every five years. Current cabaret productions from German-speaking countries as well as extraordinary music events are brought to Hörbach. The last Brettl Festival took place from September 10th to 19th, 2010 in the theater tent in Hörbach. In 2000, the Hörbacher Monday board received the first prize of the renowned Tassilo Prize of the Süddeutsche Zeitung .

Stages

The Hörbacher Monday Board events have been held in the Wirtshaus zum Sandmeir in Hörbach since 1975. There is also the Gasthof Drexl venue in neighboring Steinbach (municipality of Moorenweis ) and the Heinrichshofen theater barn (municipality of Egling an der Paar ). In the past, events were also held in the Weyhern castle restaurant near Egenhofen and in Althegnenberg . In addition, one or two folk dance events take place every year in the former Gasthaus Eder in Hofhegnenberg (municipality of Steindorf ).
