The Hünerbergwiesen of Oberursel (also Hünerbergswiesen ) are a nature reserve in Oberursel in the Hochtaunus district .

The nature reserve

The nature reserve with a size of 21.66 hectares was placed under protection in 1986. The nature reserve consists of two sub-areas and includes the districts "In the lower chicken castle", "In the middle chicken castle" and "In the upper chicken castle". The area includes extensively used meadows with spring swamps. It is home to several endangered plant species existed and - companies and habitat of rare insect, bird and mammal species.

The Hünerbergwiesen are located above the B455 on the slope of the Hünerberg . The Hauburgstein lies below the nature reserve .

history

The area was illegally cleared by farmers from Oberhöchstadt in the 16th century . For centuries there was a dispute over these meadows between the farmers and the Märkern of the Hohe Mark . It was not until the 18th century that the dispute ended and the farmers became owners.
