The Upper Emsbachtal is a nature reserve in Oberems in the Hochtaunus district .

The nature reserve

The nature reserve with a size of 19,676 hectares was placed under protection in 1979. It is a valley floor through which the Emsbach stream flows, surrounded by extensive beech forests. In the damp places, the edge slopes on the left side of the valley bear quarry forest-like trees. Extensively used pipe grass meadows grow on the less wet locations and small-scale nebula grass lawns can be found in the dry areas.

The area begins at the north-eastern corner of the Oberems sports field and runs upstream from there. It includes the old corridors “Auf der Glashütt”, “Rauscherseite”, “Auf den Brüchern” and “In der Kirchbaumwiese”.
