Hüttenberg was once a settlement in the Lower Franconian district of Aschaffenburg , which was located in what is now the Mömbris market . It was in the Kahlgrund , a few hundred meters north of the Mensengesäß district and no longer exists today. Only the Hüttenberger chapel still indicates the earlier settlement.

history

In the 15th century, Hüttenberg was named as a settlement in the Mensengesäß district , on the southeast slope of the Herrenberg . There were frequent changes of ownership between 1700 and the end of the 19th century. The buildings were demolished in 1889 and rebuilt in the villages of Gunzenbach and Angelsberg . All houses were half-timbered buildings . Today only a 2 meter high and 12 meter long quarry stone wall and a badly crumbled cellar vault are visible of the former estate . The fountain on the wall is still recognizable as a source today. During the demolition work, bricks with the year 1510 were found. The still existing Hüttenberg chapel was also to be sold and dismantled in 1889, but the buyers did not demolish the small prayer house out of awe of this sanctuary and thus received a testimony from the past for posterity.

The Hüttenbergweg in Oberschur is named after the desert Hüttenberg .
