Hacılar is a district in the province of Kayseri in Central Anatolia . Hacılar is located about ten kilometers south of Kayseri , between Mount Erciyes and the city of Kayseri at an altitude of about 1350 m. The district has 12,723 inhabitants (2008).

According to oral tradition, the oldest settlement area is Dörtkuyular (four fountains). Already mentioned in a document by the Ottomans, Hacılar became a municipality in 1931 and has been a district since September 9, 1991. Hacılar is famous for its fertile gardens. In the past, the residents lived mainly from agriculture, carpet weaving, animal breeding and handicrafts. Nowadays, the furniture and electronics industry (HES-Hacılar Elektrik Sanayii) in particular have replaced agriculture and animal breeding.
