The inland port Eisenhüttenstadt is a port in Eisenhüttenstadt in Brandenburg , which can handle bulk and heavy goods. He is on the Spree-Oder waterway to the river Spree and the Oder connected. It is operated by the municipal Stadtwirtschaft GmbH. It can be reached via the federal highways B112 and B246 . The A12 motorway is 25 km away. The siding is currently interrupted.

In Fürstenberg (Oder) the Oder-Spree Canal joins the Oder . From there, the coal-laden barges coming from Silesia were taken over by a tugboat and towed to Berlin via the Oder-Spree Canal. Several ports were operated for this.

The port at its current location was built between 1940 and 1943 as the “transshipment port for the general building inspector ”. There granite blocks for the world capital Germania were unbeaten and processed.

  • Winter harbor : Dead arm after relocating the mouth of the canal, which was used as a winter harbor.

  • Cement port : quay wall at the cement works.
  • M STALAG IIIB : A prahmreede was built at the former prisoner of war camp in the 1970s.
  • Factory port: transshipment port for the steelworks.

From 1951 to 1989, bulk goods such as ingots, ore, coke and coal were handled for the Eisenhüttenkombinat Ost (EKO) . The operator was VEB Binnenhäfen Oder , from 1990 the Binnenhäfen Oder GmbH . In 1997 the current operating company Hafenbetriebsgesellschaft Eisenhüttenstadt mbH was founded, which in 2000 was incorporated into Stadtwirtschaft Eisenhüttenstadt GmbH as a subsidiary. This in turn is a subsidiary of the city. A comprehensive renovation of the port facilities took place between 2000 and 2001.

Current state

The port of Eisenhüttenstadt is a port and is located on the Spree-Oder waterway at km 124.5. The harbor basin is 350 m × 45 m in size. A double-link luffing crane “Sokol” 32 t, a port gantry crane “Barleben” 12.5 t and a mobile crane “Sennebogen 835 M” are available for handling between road / rail and water. The port operating company does not own any rail vehicles. All shunting trips are carried out by ArcelorMittal Eisenhüttenstadt Transport GmbH. The total throughput in 2013 was 70,399 t (of which 13,392 t in receipt and 57,007 t in dispatch). Mainly metals were received and building materials sent.

The rail connection is currently disrupted, which is causing economic losses for the port.
