Flora and fauna

Numerous types of wood, mainly various pastures , in places dense bushes and reeds form the vegetation. Floating leaf and underwater plants could settle in a shallow water belt.

In addition to its function as an important bird habitat for well over 100 species, the nature reserve is an important refuge and habitat for mammals and endangered amphibian species such as the tree frog .

Access

The Brombachsee is fully accessible with a circular bike and footpath. This path also leads directly along the southern border of the protected area. The protection area is partly blocked with a wire fence and partly with hedges. The habitats are clearly visible from the path, but access to the protected area itself is not permitted.

In spring and autumn a visit to bird watching and bird migration is particularly worthwhile.

Parking spaces, some of which are chargeable, are located at the sports boat harbor in Langlau.

With the local public transport ( VGN ) you can travel daily with the Gunzenhausen - Pleinfeld train line to the Langlau stop. From there it is a 30-minute walk.

Surroundings

At the Brombachsee there are also the nature reserves of the Igelsbachsee lake , Grafenmühle , Brombachmoor and Sägmühle .

The Brombachsee and its surroundings offer numerous leisure activities such as sailing, surfing, swimming, cycling and hiking.
