The Buchleite (officially Buchleite bei Markt Berolzheim ) is a nature reserve near Markt Berolzheim in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district in Central Franconia .

The area is around 30 hectares in size and is located on a northern slope of the Hahnenkamm in the Altmühltal Nature Park , south of Markt Berolzheim and near the Berolzheim Forest at an altitude of around 500 meters above sea level. In 1994 it was designated as the 48th nature reserve in Middle Franconia. Below the forest there are grazed semi- arid grasslands , on which pasture-resistant species such as the common knuckle and silver thistle have settled through grazing with sheep . To this day there are occurrences of common fringed gentian , German fringed gentian and spring gentian . In the waterlogged springs there is fen vegetation, while a number of old fruit trees attract rare insect species, on which the birds, bats and dormice of the nature reserve feed. In the booklet there are several hats and orchards that are typical for this region. There are also seven 300-year-old linden trees , the Seven Linden trees , a natural monument . In the middle of these linden trees there is a trough.

In the area of ​​the nature reserve there is one of three former brewery cellars that were laid out in the middle of the 19th century and are now marked as a monument . Several bat species spend the winter there. The other two brewery cellars are located 100 m southwest of the nature reserve.
