Halfway to Sanity is the tenth studio album by the New York punk rock band Ramones , released in September 1987 . It is the last album with Richie Ramone .

Background information

The album was recorded in April 1987 under the direction of producer Daniel Ray. The last time on the album is Richie Ramone on drums, who joined the band in 1984. He contributed the tracks I Know Better Know and I'm Not Jesus on Halfway to Sanity , which was later covered by Behemoth . Dee Dee Ramone, who wrote the majority of the songs on the album, sang I Lost My Mind . Debbie Harry from the band Blondie was a backing singer on Go Lil 'Camaro Go . The songs Real Cool Time (with the B-side Indian Giver of the band 1910 Fruitgum Company ) and I Wanna Live (with the B-side Merry Christmas (I Don't Want To Fight Tonight) ) were released from the album . Real Cool Time peaked at number 85 on the UK charts, and I Wanna Live was used in the 2008 video game Tony Hawk's Project 8 . The album Halfway to Sanity reached number 172 on the Billboard 200 and number 78 on the UK album charts.

The reviews of Halfway to Sanity were not particularly good. Stephen Thomas Erlewine complained on Allmusic that the album lacked uniform material and that it no longer had the strength of albums like Too Tough to Die or Subterranean Jungle . He only awarded one and a half stars out of five. Punknews.org laments the lack of musical strength, only one star out of five possible has been awarded.
