Haman County ( Korean : 함안군 , Haman-gun ) is located in Gyeongsangnam-do Province . The administrative headquarters are in the city of Haman-eup. The district had an area of 569 km² and a population of 69,198 inhabitants in 2019.
In the early days of Korea, Haman was the seat of Gaya , a leading state in the Gaya Confederation. Many relics from this time are still preserved in the district. After the fall of Gaya, Haman fell to Silla . In 757 his name was changed to Haman-gun, which he still wears today.
