Hamburg Journal (until 2001: Hamburger Journal) is the regional magazine of Norddeutscher Rundfunk for the state of Hamburg , which was first broadcast on October 6, 1985. The 10,000 show was broadcast in April 2017. The Hamburg Journal can be received via antenna , cable and digitally via satellite and via Zattoo . Manfred Schröter was the editor-in-chief from March 1, 1992 until the end of August 2016. Sabine Rossbach has been program director since 2016 .

Content and charisma

The Hamburg Journal is broadcast daily on NDR TV at 7.30 p.m. and repeated the following day at 9:30 a.m. on NDR TV and Radio Bremen TV . It provides information about political and cultural life in Hamburg and provides background information on special events. Sports in Hamburg and local stories from the country are also topics of the program. There is also the Hamburg Journal 6 p.m. , a fifteen-minute short edition that deals with regional news from Hamburg and is broadcast Monday through Friday at 6 p.m.

The title melody is an excerpt from the main theme from the 4th movement (bars 61 ff.) Of the 1st symphony by Johannes Brahms . Before that, the program began and ended with an excerpt from the play Hand made (1973) by Klaus Doldingers Passport .

Under the title "Hamburger Journal" the program started on October 1st, 1985 in the first program of the ARD, which was broadcast regionally the evening before. The broadcast time was from Monday to Friday between 7:20 p.m. and 7:50 p.m. In January 1993, the magazine switched to the third program N3, today's NDR television. Since March 1999 the NDR has been producing a daily edition of the regional broadcast, including Sundays.
