Handball GDR Oberliga (women) 1975/76

The East German handball championship of the women was with the season 1975/76 held for the 26th time. The SC Leipzig successfully defended their title from the previous year due to the better goal difference compared to TSC Berlin with equal points and won their eleventh title overall.
The last two of the GDR Oberliga played with the relay winners of the GDR League North and South in a relegation round for two starting places for the 1976/77 Oberliga season . Due to the last place in the relegation, the HSG DHfK Leipzig had to leave the upper house after three years. The ASK Vorwärts Frankfurt / O took her place for the new season . a.
The top scorer was Kristina Richter from runner-up TSC Berlin with 109 goals.
