With the in season 1967/68 discharged Handball DDR Oberliga women was in the women's handball the champion in the German Democratic Republic determined.

Season course

The league began in November 1967 and was completed in April 1968. Ten teams took part, including last year's champions SC Empor Rostock as well as the two promoted TSG Wismar and the BSG activist "Karl Marx" Zwickau . The women of SC Leipzig won all 18 games and dethroned the defending champion. The two promoted teams finished in the last two places in the table and immediately had to relegate.
