Endgame

(August 7, 1966 in the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Stadion in Zerbster )

SC Empor Rostock - BSG progress Weissenfels 7: 5 (3: 3)

“SC Empor Rostock successfully defended its German championship title in women's field handball. The Rostock handball women defeated on Sunday in Zerbst in the final progress Weissenfels 7: 5 (3: 3). With that, the SC Empor won the championship title for the third time in a row. Up to the 30th minute (5: 5) the game was still completely open. Progress Weissenfels had always presented a hit up to this point, but the equalization was always made immediately. When the players around Inge Schanding exaggerated the cross game in the last phase, the Rostock women took their chance. The Weisenfels defense was played twice with powerful combinations. Mester and the national player Grosse achieved the not undeserved 7: 5 success with two goals. "(Neues Deutschland, August 8, 1966, p. 4)
