Handball GDR Oberliga (women) 1969/70

In the 1969/70 season, the GDR champions in women's indoor handball were determined with the women's handball league .

Season course

The women of SC Leipzig won their fourth indoor handball title, the third in a row. With only one defeat in 18 games, the team prevailed against nine competitors. The only defeat (6-8) brought the Leipzig women to the championship runner-up SC Empor Rostock on the last day of the match. TSG Wismar and SG Dynamo Karl-Marx-Stadt competed as promoters, but both had to immediately relegate from the top division . The season lasted from October 1969 to February 1970.
